Danielle Herrington is the model to be included on the cover girl of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for 2018. Danielle was born on May 26, 1993 in Compton, California. She had an interest in modeling since her childhood days and she knew she wanted to be a model at the age of eight.
Herrington started her modeling career at the age 13 but didn’t take it seriously until 2015. In 2016 she was featured in an editorial for GQ magazine titled “Rising Model Danielle Herrington is Already a Pro on Instagram”. Her Instagram followers began to rise and in 2017, she first appeared in the Swimsuit issue when she was 21 years old.
Danielle who sees Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Freja Beha Erichsen as her inspiration was a part of Sport Illustrated 2017 Rookie Class. She then made her New York Fashion Week debut by walking in Phillip Plein’s Spring 2017 show along with supermodels like Irina Shayk and Adriana Lima.
She is the third black woman to land on the cover of Sports Illustrated issue.

She told People Magazine: “Two of my role models are Tyra Banks and Beyoncé, so the fact that I get to join this incredible group of women as I become the third black model on the cover of SI Swimsuit is a dream come true,” She also added: “I am so excited to be part of this iconic brand that has long given identity and voice to women of all shapes, colors and beliefs. I hope that young girls who look at this cover are inspired to dream as big as I did and work hard to attain all their goals.”
