Who is Manuel Orrego Savala?
Manuel Orrego Savala is the suspect who is accused of killing two people including Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson.
According to Indiana State Police, Manuel Orrego Savala, 37, is a citizen of Guatemala and according to several news outlets; he was deported twice in 2007 and 2009.
Car Crash Incident
Around 4 am on Sunday, Edwin and his Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe stood near the vehicle on the emergency exit. Edwin Jackson fell ill and asked the driver to pull over the side of the road. Manuel Orrego Savala was driving Ford F-150 and drove his truck directly at them.
According to police, he gave them fake name at the scene- Alex Cabrera Gonsales and attempted to flee on foot. He was then taken to Marion County Jail and was accused of driving without a license and on suspicion of intoxicated driving.
Manuel Orrego Savala was previously convicted of driving under the influence in Redwood City, California in 2005, according to US immigration. He also has other criminal convictions and arrests in California and Indiana. Due to his behavior, he was deported to his hometown but returned to United States under the fake name.
Orrego Savala is arrested and taken in Marion County Jail.
