2.Early Life and Education
Mia Love was born on December 6, 1975 in Brooklyn, New York to Mary and Jean Maxine Bourdeau. Her parents were immigrants from Haiti and upon arriving United States, her father became a paint-company manager and her mother worked as a nurse. Love attended Norwalk High School and then graduated with a degree in musical theatre from University of Hartford Hartt School. After graduation, she then worked at Sento Corporation and the Echopass Corporation. She was also a flight attendant with Continental Airlines.
3.Mia Love’s political career
Mia started her political career in 2003 after she won a seat on the Saratoga Springs City Council. She was the first female Haitian-American elected in Utah County. In 2009, she was elected mayor and served from January 2010 to January 2014. In 2012, she decided to run for Utah 4th Congressional district but lose to Democratic Party’s Jim Matheson. In 2013, she once again decided to run for House of Representative. On November 2014, she was elected as a Republican to the House of Representative defeating Democratic Party’s Doug Owens. Mia again defeated him in 2016 to win her second term. In October 2015, Love was also named to serve on the Select Investigative Panel on Planned Parenthood.

Despite being the member of Republican party, Love issued a statement saying that she would not vote for Republican candidate Donald Trump in election. Recently, she has asked president to apologize over his comments referring immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and some African nations as coming from shithole countries. She said:
“The President’ comments are unkind, divisive, elitist, and fly in the face of our nation’s values. This behavior is unacceptable from the leader of our nation. My parents came from one of those countries but proudly took an oath of allegiance to the United States and took on the responsibilities of everything that being a citizen comes with,”
